Crime Comparison
The Crime Comparison provides a snapshot comparison of Part 1 Crime, call data, and workload statistics by month.
Each month, the Dunwoody Police Department submits Part 1 Crime statistics to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program. The UCR Program began in 1929 in order to provide reliable, uniform crime statistics nationwide. The program has grown to include nearly 17,000 law enforcement agencies across the United States.
The UCR Program focuses on eight crime classifications, known as Part 1 Crimes. These eight crime classifications are murder and non-negligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson. Each month, the Dunwoody Police Department tracks Part 1 Crime statistics as well as call data and workload statistics. The Crime Comparison reports provide a snapshot comparison of these statistics reported both by month, year-to-date, and a comparison over previous year-to-date.
