Christmas For Kids Program

The City of Dunwoody Police Department brings the Dunwoody community together to collect new and unwrapped gifts for deserving Dunwoody children from newborns to age 15 years old.

The Dunwoody Police Department Christmas for Kids (CFK) program began in 2009 with the goal of bringing our community together to collect new and unwrapped toys and gifts for Dunwoody’s under-privileged children between the ages of newborn to 15 years old.

Our toy drive kicks-off during the first week of November each year and runs through the second week of December.  New, unwrapped toys and gifts can be dropped off 24/7 during this time at Dunwoody Police Headquarters as well as I Care Atlanta, Inc. Community clubs, groups and subdivisions are also welcome to coordinate their own CFK toy drives. Please contact Lieutenant Fidel Espinoza if you need assistance transporting your collected toys to our facility.  Please note that we will continue to collect toys and gifts at Dunwoody Police Headquarters through Christmas Day to distribute to local charitable organizations.

Once enough toys are collected, officers work together with I Care Atlanta, Inc. to hold a Christmas celebration at their facility where Santa and his Elves (along with a toy soldier or two!) arrive to greet deserving kids and their parents and enjoy a festive celebration complete with gifts and activities for the kids as well as snacks for the whole family.

The CFK celebration is open to all children within the City of Dunwoody who are between the ages of newborn and 15 years old along with their parents.  Registration is open from December 1st - December 14th. Proof of residency is required. Please contact Stephanie Stevens of I Care Atlanta at 678-615-3341 or stephanie@icareatlanta.org to request a Registration application.

We welcome community groups and volunteers to help out with the CFK celebration.  If you are interested in volunteering for the CFK celebration, we accept volunteer requests on a first-come-first serve basis. Please CLICK HERE to sign up!

The CFK celebration date and details are posted by mid-November on our Facebook and Twitter pages as well as on our City Calendar and I Care Atlanta website – so be sure to check back during that time!

Christmas for Kids is a community effort and is only made possible by the generosity of our citizens, businesses, and other local organizations.
