Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.)
The department has a number of Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) training instructors on staff whom provide renowned self-defense programs to the community. We try and offer several opportunities throughout the year for individuals to participate in these courses. If you are interested in a course, please contact the deparmtent and we will get you headeed in the right direction!

The Claremont Police Department, in conjunction with the Parks and Recreation Department, will be offering a FREE Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) class for women. This Class is designed to empower women through self-defense, awareness and avoidance. The R.A.D. program teaches the basic hands on defense training, but is not a martial arts program. This program is designed for the everyday woman, regardless of age or fitness level. This program is designed for participants ages 13 and older. The course will be held on the following four dates: August 20th, 22th, 27th and 29th from 6:00-9:00 pm at the Claremont Savings Bank Community Center.
