NH Route 12 & North Street Improvements Project
 
Sealed proposals for the Claremont 13248, NH Route 12 & North Street Improvements Project will be received at the City of Claremont, ("The OWNER"), City Manager’s Office, 58 Opera House Square, Claremont, NH 03743, until 10:00 a.m. (local time), Friday, February 2, 2024 and will be opened and read aloud.  Bids received after the specified time will not be accepted. The active construction is anticipated to run between February 2024 and November 2025. Bidders should note that the prices contained in the proposal will be considered valid for the duration of the construction project.
 
This Federally funded project involves reconfiguring the NH 12 / North Street intersection and reconstruct, realign, and widen the respective roadway approaches which total approximately 5,200 feet in length. The work will include profile improvements on North Street and a stop-controlled intersection where North Street meets NH 12. Utility adjustments, a new water line, drainage improvements, culvert replacement, soldier pile retaining wall construction, and stormwater management measures will also be included.

A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 18, 2023 at the City of Claremont Planning and Development Office, 14 North Street, Claremont, NH.  Conference attendance is not mandatory, however it is highly recommended.

Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the ENGINEER in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda. The Bidders are responsible for checking the above website for all project updates including all Addenda. Questions received less than five days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.  Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding.  Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect.
 
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this advertisement.  No contractor will be discriminated against on grounds of race, sex, religion, color, or national origin.  Bidders will be required to furnish a bid bond in the amount of 10% of the total bid, and the successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price.
 
All individuals, firms, partnerships, or corporations intending to bid must be prequalified with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation for Road Construction or Site Work.  Prequalification must be established no less than three days prior to the bid date.
